TITLE: Conor and his hurley
LEVEL 2
SYNOPSIS
Long ago when Ireland was ruled by kings, it lived Conor. He is an eleven years old boy that lives in a farm with his father and mother. Conor loves playing hurling more than anything else. His parents are not very happy because they need help with the harvest but Conor is not helping.
King Brian is very upset because there is a savage wolf that is slaughtering his people´s calf. He is worried; nobody can catch or kill the wolf, not even his best warriors.
One day Conor’s dad tells him to stop playing hurling and go with him to collect the crop. But Conor says that he will go when he finishes the match. His dad is not happy at all but he does not want to waste his time arguing while he has to work. It gets late before Conor finishes. So when he leaves to the farm is very dark. When Conor is crossing the forest the wolf is not far, actually is quite close. And getting closer and closer... Conor is singing happily but soon he feels something and starts feeling scared. Suddenly the wolf jump over Conor. But he has very good reflex and when the wolf is about to fall over him Conor throws his ball at the wolf and hits him with his hurley. He hits it so hard that kills the wolf.
Everybody is very surprised and happy when see that Conor is alive and that he has killed the wolf. When King Brian finds out about it he is so thankful that does a feats in the honor of Conor and also decides that from now on, it will be a Hurling World Cup every four years!

- Conor: He is an eleven years old boy who loves playing hurling more than anything else. He´s tall, strong, very brave but he does not help his parents.
- Conor´s dad: He is a farmer and not very happy at Conor´s attitude.
- King Brian: He is the king of Ireland. He is very upset because there is a wolf that is slaughtering his people´s calf.
- Wolf. It is a very savage and wild wolf, with very dark fur and creepy eyes.
- Warrior 2 They are some of King Brian´s best warriors

SCENES
- Scene 1 - In the Hurling Pitch
Narrator 1 introduces Conor to the audience and explains a bit what is hurling and that it´s an Irish game. He greets them and turns around quickly to go to play hurling with his friends that are already waiting for him at the pitch.
- Scene 2 - King Brian throne room
Narrator 2 introduces the king and explains to the audience why the King is crying. The three warriors, one after the other get in the room and say to the king that they could not kill the wolf. The king cries even louder
- Scene 3 - In the Hurling Pitch
Narrator 3 introduces Conor´s dad and tells the audience that Conor´s parents are not very happy at Conor. Conor´s dad, on his horse, tells him to go to the farm to help. But he says that later on. The dad leaves on his horse. They keep playing and little by little the light goes down as it was the sun. Then Conor says he has to go to the farm to give a hand to his parents.
- Scene 4 - In the forest
Conor sings happily. The music starts to be scary. The wolf gets in the stage little by little, silently and approaches Conor quietly and slowly. Conor stops, his face has changed from happiness into terror. The wolf jumps and Conor throws his ball at the wolf and hits him with his hurley. He hits it so hard and kills the wolf. Conor puts his foot over the wolf as a trophy and his dad and other farmers get in scene with theirs tool as weapons. They are very surprised and happy when they see what has happened. Conor´s dad hugs him.
- Scene 5 – In King Brian´s castle
Everybody is in there eating and drinking; celebrating that Conor has killed the wolf. King Brian announces that it will be held a Hurling World Cup. They all cheer for Conor and the king.
